So, I took a little side trip to San Sebastian. It's absolutely my favorite place yet! The food, the weather, the beaches! I feel it has been a match made in heaven! Okay, the food here is amazing! I had dinner at a cute little hole-in-the-wall tapas bar. They have all these little plates full of interesting and amazing food laying out and you pass by looking in and it just lures you. So I picked this big chunk of Tuna that was marinated in Olive Oil and had a little bit of vinegar and lemon on it with fresh onions and a spicy pepper! Fresh artichoke heart-NOT the pickled kind:) with a Spanish olive and this fresh, crunchy, spicy relish stuff! And I had a little piece of bread with crab, pickle and sardines topped with an olive! This morning at the bus station I bought the tastiest little pastry treat filled with warm chocolate! The cafe con leche here is the best I've ever had! I think its the milk...although the coffee is super rich and creamy on its own too, so maybe a combination of really good milk and good strong coffee. The Spanish olives are so yummy! They are a little sweeter than the California olives we usually eat. The cheap-O regular beer here is called Mahou. It tastes just like budweiser or MGD or something. The other night when I got into Santander it was kind of late and I thought I was just going to have to wait for breakfast to eat WHEN I made the best decision ever and went for a drink at the bar. That bar made me Theeee strangest, most delicious mystery meat hamburguesa! The burger itself was just dripping with pink juice and the texture was more of like a garden burger, but it was soooooo darn good that I didn't even care what it was. It was served with a fried egg and a slice of ham on it! So good!
